This year’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Best Dressed Competition will feature Lisa Hogan, a celebrated figure from Prime Video’s “Clarkson’s Farm,” as the lead fashion judge. Hogan, originally from Dublin, has a diverse background in modeling, acting, and art, which has equipped her well for this prestigious role.

Lisa Hogan was born and raised in Dublin, where she initially pursued careers in modeling, acting, and art. Her life took a significant turn when she moved to rural England to join Jeremy Clarkson on his farm. Despite the change in lifestyle, Hogan maintains strong ties to Dublin, frequently visiting friends and family.

Hogan currently co-owns and established the ‘Diddly Squat Farm Shop’ in Chadlington, Chipping Norton, within the picturesque west Oxfordshire Cotswold Hills in the UK. The acclaimed series “Clarkson’s Farm” chronicles the endeavors of the ex-Top Gear host as he manages a sprawling 1,000-acre farm, grappling with adverse weather conditions, unruly livestock, and unyielding crops, frequently submerged in deep mud.

On June 30th, Hogan will swap her usual farming attire for more fashionable footwear as she attends the Curragh Racecourse for the competition. She will be joined by fellow judges Bairbre Power, Alpana Cidambi, and Breeda McLoughlin, representing Dubai Duty Free.

The best-dressed competition

The grand prize for the Best Dressed Competition includes roundtrip flights for two to Dubai, a five-night stay at the luxurious Jumeirah Creekside, and €1,000 for additional expenses. This enticing prize package adds an extra layer of excitement to the event.

Hogan’s diverse career path includes stints in finance, banking, and PR in London before her appearance on “Clarkson’s Farm.” One of her notable achievements in the entertainment industry was being cast by John Cleese in the 1997 film “Fierce Creatures.” She has three children with her former husband, Baron Steven Bentinck, and is currently dating Jeremy Clarkson.

The Irish Derby festival

The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival, spanning three days from June 28th to 30th, is a highlight for horse racing enthusiasts and fashion-conscious attendees. The festival features twelve races, most of which are sponsored by Dubai Duty Free. This event combines the thrill of horse racing with high fashion, offering an unforgettable experience.

The Best Dressed Competition is a key attraction, allowing racegoers to showcase their style and compete for impressive prizes. Last year’s winner, Auguste Rodin, attended the event in elegant attire, accompanied by jockey Ryan Moore, leaving a lasting impression.

Since Dubai Duty Free became the title sponsor in 2008, the Irish Derby has gained significant international recognition. The inclusion of the race in the Tote World Pool has enhanced its popularity, allowing global tote betting and attracting a worldwide audience. The collaboration with the Hong Kong Jockey Club ensures the event’s prominence in the international racing calendar.

Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, highlighted the effectiveness of sports sponsorship in marketing strategies. He expressed his excitement for the upcoming event, anticipating an extraordinary day of racing and entertainment at The Curragh.

The Irish Derby Festival continues to grow in stature, drawing top-tier horses, riders, and trainers from around the globe. With Hogan’s involvement and the festival’s impressive lineup of races and fashion events, attendees are promised an exciting and stylish experience.

Lisa Hogan’s role as a judge in the said Derby fashion competition adds a touch of glamour and expertise to the event. Her diverse background and strong connection to Dublin make her a fitting choice for this prestigious role. The festival itself, with its combination of high-stakes racing and fashion, remains a must-attend event on the international horse racing calendar.
